Your parents will also continue to receive emails each week with the Virtual Learning Plans and Schedule.

You are welcome to still visit our blog for access to Symbaloo and other resources but blog posts will not be happening regularly.

Virtual Learning Week 4

Next week we will Zoom on Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 16 to do our class read-aloud of Holes at 1:00 pm on both days. We will also Zoom on Wednesday, April 15 at to do a "Study Hall" at 10:00 am for you to ask me questions about your learning and I can teach you on the spot what you need.

Remember your parents have my email and phone number if you have any questions or need help. You also can use Google Classroom to send me messages and write on the "stream" to talk to me.

Science Website: Mystery Science: Earthquakes

Google Classroom Instructions:

1. Go to the OB Dashboard

2. Log into Clever Account using your Google/Ladue Account

3. Click the Google Classroom App

4. You will then get the option to join our Google Classroom

5. Click the blue Join button and you are in! You can see the front page which is the stream (displays class announcements) and click on at the top CLASSWORK. Then all of the school work for this week is displayed and you can begin.

Play around with Google Classroom this week to familiarize yourself with it. I will share more about it at our class Zoom tomorrow and make an instructional video as well.

For your reading work this week you are asked about Text Structures on Day 1. We have learned about these this year! Here are a few resources to help you remember:

After reading about the City Museum and the St. Louis Aquarium it also asks you to use a three-column chart to take notes on Day 2. This is very similar to Venn Diagrams we have made this year to compare and contrast. See below an example of how you could set up your notes:

On Day 5, you will write a summary about all you learned about St. Louis this week.

Here is a graphic organizer we have used many times in class to help write Nonfiction Summaries. Please use this to help you remember and guide you.

Monday, April 6 *Zoom Information*

IMPORTANT LOG ON INFORMATION FOR FUTURE ZOOMS:

The district has added Zoom to Clever (the app students use from the OB Dashboard). 

In order for you to participate in our class Zooms:

1. Go to the OB Dashboard

2. Log in to Clever (use your Google/Ladue account info)

3. Pick the Ms. Modde Zoom App

4. You will then be put into the waiting room for the Zoom meeting until it starts.

Your parents have the password for the meeting if you need it. However, you should not need it.

Since December I have had a glass cabinet in a box. What better time than this past weekend to build it?!?!

Here it is in the box. It is from IKEA and had A LOT of pieces. I did pretty good building it. I only got one injury, a paper cut from the box on my finger.

This is what Betty was going during the building. She is not a great helper. I miss you all helping me! 

Here it is finished! 

I got it as a gift from my mom and dad to hold my Nano Blocks. Nano Blocks are mini-legos. I collect them and they are all different places in the world. Did you know I like legos? I don't know that I ever shared that with the class.

Here is a picture showing what they look like up close. You can see that I even made little labels for each of them.

Having hobbies and doing things that make you happy during this time is so important! It does not need to be building or legos, but I hope all of you are finding hobbies and activities to do at home to stay busy.
